King has made nine appearances since joining on loan from Morpeth Town at the end of September. In total, the on-loan defender has registered four clean sheets, and has only conceded five goals when on the pitch.

With the loan deal set to expire after our away game at Hebburn Town coming up this Saturday, King will remain at The UTS Stadium until March 3rd.

"I've enjoyed my time so far. Playing regularly for me was important and I'm glad it's paying off." King said.

"It was an easy decision. We have a great group of lads who have welcomed me from the first day. We have a plan for promotion and, so far, everything is going to plan, so it was an easy decision to make to stay.

"Due to games being called off for the rain, we just have to take each game as they come. We are on a great run at the minute and we hope it continues," King added.

Manager Jon McDonald has also spoken on the loan deal keeping King at The UTS Stadium until early-March.

"Josh has been terrific for us. He's integrated really well into the group too. We are naturally delighted we have been able to extend his stay with us."

Next up for Jon McDonald, Josh King, and the rest of the squad, is a trip to local neighbours Hebburn Town this Saturday.
