Dunston FC - End of season review.

Dunston FC would like to sincerely thank all those who have supported the Club throughout this season.

With the announcement earlier last month that the season would be expunged, the weekend before last would have marked our final League game of the 2019/20 season.

Having spent many seasons as proud members of The Northern League, Dunston FC gained promotion as Northern League Champions and as a result spent last season playing at the highest level of The Non League pyramid in the clubs history,  as we made the step up to The BetVictor Northern Premier League.

With the vast majority of the Northern League winning side of 2018/19 remaining with the club for the 2019/20 season, under the continued leadership of Team Manager Chris Swailes and Assistant Manager Chris Errington, the team adjusted well to the challenges and demands presented throughout the season.

With an encouraging pre-season completed, Dunston FC started the campaign by lifting The JR Cleator Cup with a 2-0 victory against Northern League side West Auckland Town. The step up in the standard of quality of our opponents in the League was apparent from the out-set.  Having gained an impressive point away to Marine AFC, as the season progressed, it was evident to see that all sides in the league were capable of beating one another.

The hard work, dedication and professionalism which the management team bring to the club is manifest in the attitude of our players. This season has been a learning curve as we have adjusted well to life in The BetVictor Northern Premier League. Each and every player has stepped up to the challenges and delivered performances, both individually and collectively, which they should look back on with pride. Throughout the season there has always been a sense of optimism, as on our day we have proved that we are capable of matching opponents at this level.

The attitude, commitment, sacrifice and work rate our players and management team have displayed  throughout the season has been nothing short of exemplary. The camaraderie throughout the Club is, and continues to be, a major point of pride for all associated with Dunston FC.

All of our achievements over the course of this season have been made possible through the committed dedication, hard work and effort from the players, management, staff, committee members and supporters and to this end we are proud and honoured to be blessed with the people we have at Dunston FC.

With the support of our sponsors Dunston FC are in a position to continue to grow and develop. We would like to place on record our sincere gratitude to all those companies and individuals who have supported Dunston FC over the course of this season.

UTS Engineering Ltd have continued to provide Dunston FC with an extraordinary level of support as our major sponsors and it is with honour to be associated with such a fantastic company. We would like sincerely thank Mr Shaun Sadler and all at UTS Engineering Ltd for their continued support of Dunston FC.

Dunston Van and Truck Centre and Astley Signs have provided fantastic support as sponsors for our home and away kits respectively. We would like to place on record our sincere gratitude for their continued support as both sponsors have a longstanding and highly valued relationship with Dunston FC.

The long-standing relationship we have with the aforementioned companies is testament to their enduring support of Dunston FC.

Dunston FC have received continued support from a multitude of businesses and individuals throughout the course of the season, whether this be through our Vice Presidents, board sponsorship, match day sponsorship, match ball sponsorship or player kit sponsorship.

Without the generosity of our sponsors, the ability for Dunston FC to progress and grow as a Club would be significantly reduced and we are therefore eternally grateful for the support we have been afforded.

We would also like to thank Stanley Travel who have provided the safe transportation of players, staff and supporters over the course of this season for all of our away journeys. The service they have provided has been nothing short of outstanding as we have made multiple long distance journey across the North of England.

The logistical challenges of having to travel further afield on a regular basis for fixtures has seen all those involved with Dunston FC rise to the challenge and Stanley Travel have delivered an outstanding service on every occasion.

As a Club we must also take pride in the work we have conducted off the field throughout the season. Dunston FC undertook a series of improvements to The UTS Stadium. Hours of voluntary work dedicated to Dunston FC  ensured that we have a Stadium with facilities equal to, and if not better, than other clubs at our level.

We have made huge strides as a Club by developing links with local schools, youth clubs, local charities and initiatives.  The formation of The Dunston UTS FC Supporters Club has provided many positives for both Dunston FC and the wider community. The dedicated effort displayed by those involved is something we are deeply proud of and we look forward to developing further over time. The relationships they have developed with the players has cemented a feeling of unity and togetherness.

Finally, and by no means least, we would like to thank to our loyal supporters who have continued with their fantastic support of Dunston FC both home and away consistently throughout the course of the season. Our Supporters have represented Dunston FC honourably, respectfully and vocally.

It is with the upmost pride we are able to reflect on what we have achieved this season at Dunston FC as Community. We are forever grateful for the support we have received and eagerly look forward to welcoming you all back for start of the 2020/21 season.
