Contract Extensions

Dunston UTS FC are delighted to announce contract extensions for five key players.

The following players have agreed contract extensions to remain with the club for the 2023-24 season: Phil Turnbull, Craig Baxter, Jon Shaw, Richard Coulson and Terry Galbraith.

Phil Turnbull will be entering his third season with the club and has been an ever-present, making 60 league appearances over the last two seasons. Turnbull also swooped the Committee's Player of the Season and Club Player of the Season awards, at last weekend's end of season Presentation Night. 

Craig Baxter will also be heading into his third season with the club making 62 league appearances since 2021 - A hard working right back with bags of experience.

Jon Shaw will enter his second season for the club after making 18 league appearances last season and scoring two goals. Richard Coulson signed for the club in December 2021 and has made 52 league appearances, netting ten league goals in the process. A player that works tirelessly and provides Jon McDonald with a valuable option in the attacking third.

Terry Galbraith has also committed to the club for the upcoming season and has played a pivotal role in the backline for many years. First signing for the club in 2009, and then re-joining the club in 2020, Galbraith has made a remarkable 189 league appearances for the club scoring 29 times in them games. He is also an FA Vase winner for Dunston back in 2012. 

Dunston UTS Manager Jon McDonald has spoken on his delight about the players who have committed to the club for the upcoming campaign.

"I am delighted all of the lads have agreed to continue their stay with the club. The experience and quality they all possess will be invaluable this season.

"I can't speak highly enough of all the lads. They set standards every single week and, aside from being good players, they are good people and you can't have enough of those at your club." McDonald added.
