Formerly a striker who can also slot in at centre back, Jon has often been dubbed the “Man of Steel” and has had spells at various levels of the English game, including Halifax Town, where he scored 26 goals in all competitions, and Gateshead, where he enjoyed two spells, scoring 35 goals in his second in a total of 45 goals overall. Jon has also had spells with hometown club Sheffield Wednesday, along with time at Burton Albion and Rochdale. Jon has a prowess for his strong work rate and finishing abilities and will look to provide experience within the Dunston back line next season. 

 When asked what he thinks he can bring to the side, he replied “At 38 I suppose the easiest word to use is experience. I like to play at the right times. I’ll win my headers but I’d like to think I read the game well and I’ll be aiming to help organise from the back”
