BREAKING TRANSFER NEWS: Dan's the man as Staples signs on.

Dunston UTS are delighted to announce the signing of shot stopper Daniel Staples.

The goalkeeper, who has had spells in the past with Newcastle United, Sunderland and Wrexham AFC and Bedlington Terriers joins the club to complete a full new lineup within the goalkeeping department, following the arrivals of goalkeeping coach Lee Kennedy and Morpeth Town loanee James Anderson. Most recently at Consett AFC, the shot stopper made a huge impact on his first appearance in a cup clash against North Shields last season, saving a penalty in the final five minutes to assure his side victory by three goals to two.

Upon his arrival at the UTS Stadium, goalkeeping coach Lee Kennedy said: Dan is a talented and experienced goalkeeper who has been brought in to push James Anderson for the number 1 shirt. He has trained hard and shown some real quality since his arrival, and will bring really healthy competition to the group.

Welcome to Dunston, Dan!
