A Statement Regarding Recent Postponements

The club would like to issue a statement in regard to the playing surface at the UTS Stadium which has led to recent postponements.

"The club are once again very disappointed to have to postpone our game this evening due to a waterlogged pitch.

As you will be aware, we spent a lot of money during the close-season trying to remedy the historical issues that we have had with the surface and initially the work looked to have paid off as the pitch looked in top condition in the early months of the season.

Over the last month or so, we have had an unprecedented amount of rain which I don’t think any pitch could have coped with. Despite the tremendous efforts from our committee and volunteers, we have still been unable to get the pitch playable.

The main problem area is the top end of the ground where water is running down the incline on to the pitch. We have started work this week on digging a trench the width of the pitch which will help the drainage and hopefully get us in a position to get games on.

Again a great cost to the club, but we need to do anything we possibly can to improve things. Hopefully this will be the final piece and we can start to have games at the UTS Stadium.

The club is still right up there, and we have a great chance of making the play-offs as a minimum. We would like to thank supporters for their patience and hope to see you all cheering the team on at our next game. We need your support!"
