Preview | Winterton Rangers (A)

Unfortunately, last Saturday's scheduled home game against Stocksbridge Park Steels was once again the victim of the weather, meaning Saturday's trip to Winterton comes after a break from action last weekend, and only our second game since the 1-1 draw at Stockton Town on October 21st.

THE OPPOSITION

The North Lincolnshire-outfit were promoted to the Northern Premier League East at the end of last season after coming up through a play-off in the Northern Counties East League. The 'Rangers' defeated Coggeshall Town to earn their promotion.

Winterton currently sit in 16th position in the league, picking up 15 points from 15 games. Saturday's hosts have yet to draw a game this season, with their points coming from five victories.

The league's form guide has Winterton in 12th place, with Dunston in 9th. Most recently, Winterton picked up a big three points in a 2-1 away win at Grantham Town last Saturday.

In all competitions this season, Winterton have played 17 games, winning five and losing 12. They currently average 1.1 goals per game, and concede 2.5 goals per game.

Winterton have won three and lost four of their seven league games at home this season.

WHAT WE'RE SAYING

Manager Jon McDonald has previewed Saturday's fixture away at Winterton:

"Like every other team in the division, they will pose a threat. We've done our homework and we know what to expect. Nobody gives you anything in this division, you need to earn it. We are ready and look forward to the game.

"The lads have been different class. We've had five very good sessions leading into this game, and eight sessions, uninterrupted, before the Grimsby game.

"Physically we are in really good shape and, to be honest, we are all just desperate for a competitive game.

"As a group of staff, our job is to make sure the lads remained focused, and I know they are. We've had a decent start and we are very determined to build on it." McDonald said.
