PREVIEW | North Ferriby (A)

After the frustration of Wednesday night's postponement, all attention turns to The Dransfield Stadium on Saturday. Dunston have only suffered one defeat in 14 games and will be looking to continue putting the pressure on the sides above and below in the promotion race.

Dunston put on a tremendous showing last Saturday securing a 2-0 win against fellow promotion hopefuls, Pontefract Collieries. David Robinson fired Dunston into the lead in sublime circumstances in first half stoppage time as he lobbed the goalkeeper from 40 yards, after some silky attacking play. The three points were sealed in the dying moments of the game when David Robinson added to his tally and slammed the ball into the bottom corner, after some excellent hold-up play by Jack Maskell.

Before that, Dunston were winless in two games after a 2-1 defeat at Liversedge two weeks ago, and a 1-1 draw at Grantham the following Tuesday. Jon McDonald will be hoping that minor blip is in the rear-view mirror as Dunston look to continue the promotion charge with just two months left of the season.

SATURDAY'S OPPONENTS

North Ferriby are enjoying an excellent campaign of their own as they sit right behind Dunston in fourth place. The Villagers, who were promoted last season, have found no difficulty in adapting to the challenges of a new league.

In fact, North Ferriby are currently the most in-form side in the division as they sit top of the pile in the form table over the last six games. They have won five of their last six league games, losing one. The one defeat came at the hands of league leaders, Stockton Town, as Adam Nicholson scored an 89th minute winner for The Anchors in a 1-0 win.

Last time out for The Villagers, they picked up a 4-2 win away at Grantham Town on Saturday afternoon. Dom Roma, Levi Tarbotton, Tom Corner and Josh Whitley all on the scoresheet.

LAST TIME OUT

Dunston have only suffered four defeats in 24 league games this season. One of them defeats came courtesy of North Ferriby back in October. In a goalless first half, Dunston took the lead two minutes into the second half as skipper, Michael Pearson, slotted home for his first goal of the season. Danny East equalised from the spot after Jude Swailes was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the area.

It took Dunston only four minutes to regain the lead as Jack Maskell fired home on the hour-mark. Then, just four minutes later again, Harry Wallis pulled The Villagers level for a second time before Josh Dennett scored the winner with ten minutes to go.
