PREVIEW | Hebburn Town (A)

Dunston make the short trip to the Hebburn Sports Ground on Tuesday evening. Dunston will be looking to make it twelve games unbeaten and put further pressure on league leaders, Stockton Town, who are currently ten points ahead having played four more games. Last time out for Dunston it was a 4-1 win at The UTS Stadium against Ashington AFC.

Dunston took an early lead through Jack Maskell inside the opening 15 minutes. The Colliers responded and equalised through Karl Ross shortly after. Further goals from Michael Pearson, David Robinson, and an own goal from Will Constantin, saw Dunston extend the unbeaten run. Dunston remain in 3rd place on 44 points, despite having only played 21 league games.

THE OPPONENTS

Hebburn Town currently sit in 4th place on 44 points as well, but with an inferior goal difference, and have played three more games than Dunston. Most recently, The Hornets defeated Consett AFC 3-1 as an Amar Purewal brace, and a goal from Liam Murray saw Hebburn record their first win in six games.

Tuesday night's hosts have came through a tough spell having picked up only six points from six games however, the win against Consett could be the catalyst to help The Hornets get their season back on track.

RECENT GAMES

The last three meetings between the sides have been close encounters, with Hebburn having the better of the recent results. Earlier in the season, an Amar Purewal header gave The Hornets a 1-0 win at The UTS Stadium. Last season at The UTS Stadium, it was also 1-0 to Hebburn with Amar Purewal again scoring the only goal.

The meeting between the two sides at Hebburn Sports Ground last season ended in a 1-1 draw. Jon Shaw was dismissed for Dunston midway through the first half, however Dale Pearson fired Dunston ahead just before half-time. Liam Murray equalised for the hosts shortly after the break.
