PREVIEW | Brighouse (A)

Dunston were eliminated from The Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday afternoon following a 2-1 defeat away at Nantwich. The result comes after a defeat away at Ashington last week in league action.

The attention once again turn to league action with our third consecutive away trip in the space of nine days.

THE OPPONENTS

Brighouse are the opponents on Monday and they currently sit in 12th position after an up and down start to the season.

Brighouse ended last season as the most in-form side in the league however, Town have lacked consistency so far.

They progressed in The FA Trophy on Saturday after winning a penalty shootout at home to Clitheroe after the game had finished 2-2. However, last time out in the league, they were defeated 3-0 by Stocksbridge. They were also defeated 4-2 by lower league Albion Sports in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round.

LAST TIME OUT

Dunston had two outstanding results against Brighouse last season. The most recent game came in March last season. Dale Pearson fired Dunston into the lead from the penalty spot.

Brighouse fought back and equalised with ten minutes to go courtesy of second half substitute Reon Benjamin-Potts. However, a last gasp header from Sado Djalo in the dying seconds rescued all three points.

Earlier in the season, Dunston ran out 4-0 winners at the UTS Stadium. Will Jenkins and Richard Coulson had Dunston 2-0 ahead after 15 minutes. The win was wrapped up in the final 18 minutes as Terry Galbraith and Jack Elliott made their way onto the scoresheet.
