PREVIEW | Bridlington (A)

Dunston make the trip to the Yorkshire Coast in good form having recorded three consecutive wins, and picking up ten points out of a possible 12. Jon McDonald's men will be looking to continue the good form in our final outing before Christmas.

A home game was finally played at The UTS Stadium for the first time in nine weeks last Saturday where Dunston picked up a comprehensive 2-0 win against Ossett United. Dale Pearson fired Dunston ahead from the penalty spot before half-time.

There was a host of missed chances in the final ten minutes and it was ultimately Jack Maskell who wrapped up the win with a cool finish in the dying minutes. The win sees Dunston remain in 8th position in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East table, having picked up 27 points from just 14 games.

A win on Saturday is unlikely to put Dunston back in the top five, but would pull us closer with two and three games in hand on all the sides around us.

THE OPPOSITION

Bridlington currently sit in the middle of the pile in 10th place. They are only three points behind Dunston however, they have played five more games.

Saturday's hosts have enjoyed some good results recently. Last Saturday they picked up a 1-0 win away at Grimsby Borough. They have also recently secured a 3-0 win at home against 3rd place Consett AFC.

RECENT RESULTS

Both sides have become rather familiar with each other in recent years, having played each other on the opening day of this season, and three times last season.

Back in August, Dunston ran out as 3-1 winners at The UTS Stadium as a brace from Jack Maskell and a goal from Dale Pearson got us off to the perfect start to the season.

Last season, Dunston won twice away at Bridlington in league and FA Cup action. In the league game at The UTS Stadium last year, Dunston went 1-0 up after three minutes through Will Jenkins. After hitting the post twice, and having two shots cleared off the line, Dunston couldn't add a second and Joe Norton scored a last-gasp equaliser for the away side in the 90th minute.
