Whitley Bay (A) | PREVIEW

Dunston are set to continue their pre-season preparations on the road to Northern League Division One outfit Whitley Bay FC on Tuesday, July 11th.

The game will take place Hillheads Park with kick-off at 7:30pm.

Dunston manager Jon McDonald will continue to assess his squad and his six new signings ahead of August 12th’s season opener.

The Fed drew their first pre-season game 1-1 against Seaham Red Star on Saturday (July 8). Liam Thear scored UTS’ only goal of the game and struck the post twice.

THE OPPOSITION

Whitley Bay enjoyed some success last season finishing fourth in the Northern League Division One. They finished seven points behind second placed Ashington.

‘The Bay’ will be looking to build on last season’s fourth placed finish after re-signing most of their playing squad as well as adding three new additions including promotion winner Andrew Cartwright and former Dunston midfielder Luke Page.

RECENT HISTORY

Whitley Bay got the better of Dunston back in 2019 with a 3-2 win in the Northern League Division One matchup.

That was the Bay’s only win over Dunston in the last four meetings, one of which included an 8-0 win for Dunston in the Northern League in 2018.

MATCHDAY INFORMATION

The game will take place at Hillshead Park, which is situated behind Whitley Bay Ice Rink (NE25 8HR).

The Seahorse (Whitley Bay’s clubhouse) will be open from 6pm onwards with toilet facilities situated inside.

Spectators can enjoy a hot drink and snack at Tommy’s Tea Hut which is ran by Whitley Bay Supporters club.
