Dunston dominated possession in the opening stages and almost broke the deadlock when Thear struck the post on 21 minutes. Dunston continued to dominate and made their possession count when they took the lead through Thear in the 43rd minute. Seaham started the second half on top, looking for a way back into the game and found their answer in the 55th minute when Max Nelson headed home a Red Star corner. Dunston keeper Dan Staples made two big saves in the second half to deny Red Star a winner. Both sides battled for a second goal but neither side could find the back of the net with Thear coming closest to a winner when he struck the post for the second time in the 88th minute.
