Dunston UTS face one final test in pre-season ahead of next week’s season opener against Bridlington Town.

Dunston host Northern Premier League side Workington at the UTS Stadium, Saturday August 5th at 3pm.

Dunston will be looking to build on from their last pre-season game when they beat Morpeth 3-2.

THE OPPOSITION

Workington enjoyed a successful season in 22/23 gaining promotion from the Northern Premier League Division One West to the Northern Premier League Premier Division via the play-offs after a third placed finish.

Workington beat Runcorn Linnets 2-1 in the play-off final to gain promotion. The reds also capped off a successful season with a 9-1 win over Penrith in the Cumberland County Cup final.

The upcoming season will be the reds first season back in the Northern Premier since their relegation in 2019.

RECENT HISTORY

The last time the two sides met Dunston won 1-0 at Workington in the FA Trophy back in 2021. Terry Galbraith got the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.

The last league meeting between the two sides came in 2019 with Workington winning 4-1.

MATCHDAY INFORMATION

The match will take place at the UTS Stadium, NE11 9JL (Kick-off 3pm).

The clubhouse will be open from 1:30pm onwards with supporters able to buy lottery tickets for Monday’s draw at 6pm. The prize fund is now up to £8,100.

The bait cabin will be open from 2pm with new favourites such as homemade pies, chicken curry and gravy and chips.

Entry for Saturday’s game is FREE to all supporters.
