PREVIEW | Pontefract Collieries (A)

Dunston are looking to bounce back from Saturday's home defeat to Long Eaton United when they travel to Pontefract Collieries on Tuesday night, a game which sees the start of an away double header, with a trip to Sheffield FC on Saturday also lying in wait.

FORM

Following three successive wins on the bounce against Ossett United, Cleethorpes Town and Shildon, Dunston came unstuck on Saturday when Long Eaton claimed a deserved 2-0 win at the UTS Stadium following goals from Reice Bertram and Ashiah Fearon deep in injury time. Chris Swailes' side will be looking to bounce back and claim a much needed three points as the race for the playoffs starts to really heat up.

Our hosts tomorrow Pontefract currently sit in 7th position, on 32 points. They are 7 points behind Dunston who occupy the final playoff position, but are by no means out of the race and a win tomorrow would close the gap considerably. However, they have claimed just five points from the last six games and have failed to score in their last two outings - these being a 2-0 loss to Worksop Town and a stalemate with Shildon at the weekend.

The sides have already met once this season in September, and it was a great contest at the UTS Stadium with the game ending 3-3. Pontefract went into the break 1-0 up thanks to a goal from Mikey Dunn, but Dunston had the lead with 20 minutes to play when a Michael Fowler penalty was built upon with Carl Finnigan scoring for a 2-1 lead. Adam Priestly hit back four minutes later for the visitors, but Dunston took the lead once more with ten minutes to go as Terry Galbraith dispatched a second penalty. But, Priestly levelled again late in the game for a share of the spoils in a topsy-turvy game at the UTS Stadium
