PREVIEW | Ossett United (A)

Dunston make the journey to West Yorkshire to face Ossett United in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East Division, with Chris Swailes’ side looking to kickstart some good form following two recent defeats and a postponement last week.

FORM

Dunston have not played since the defeat to Consett on 2nd January, with last Saturday's fixture with Shildon AFC being called off due to a waterlogged pitch. Despite not winning since the Durham FA County Cup Quarter Final before Christmas, Dunston have the benefit of an extended rest last weekend, which will hopefully have benefitted the squad.

Our hosts tomorrow Ossett did have the luxury of playing last weekend, and gained a point away at Stockton Town in a spirited performance against the high-flying anchors. Despite being winless in five, they have drawn three of those fixtures, all against tough opposition. This included a 2-2 draw in front of a bumper 800+ crowd at home to Pontefract Colleries on January 2nd. A particular threat for the hosts looks to be Alex Peterson, who has three goals in his last three appearances.

The sides have already met once this season, and it was a really cracker at the UTS Stadium. It finished 3-3, with Dunston clawing back a point thanks to Ursene Mouanda on 88 minutes after being 3-1 down at half time.

Both teams are looking for a wins to really kick start their 2023's, with Dunston in particular looking to build some good form ahead of a busy February.
