PREVIEW | Lincoln United (A)

Dunston travel to Lincoln United looking to bring back a vital three points to strengthen their hold on a playoff position.

FORM

Dunston come into this game on decent form. After suffering defeat at Pontefract Collieries in early February, they have responded well with a comprehensive 2-0 win away at Sheffield FC, before gaining a vital point at home to second placed Stockton Town at the UTS Stadium last Saturday. In between these games, Dunston put up a spirited performance against Spennymoor Town in the Durham Challenge Cup semi-final, and despite exiting the competition after a 2-0 defeat, there were plenty of positives to take. New signing Dale Pearson got off to a flying start last weekend against Stockton, giving Dunston the lead in the first half with a fine finish.

Our hosts Lincoln United have had a mixed bag of results over the last few weeks, and with a bit more consistency they may have been in a better position in the league table as oppose to their current mid table position. After losing a three goal lead at home to Sheffield FC, they then gained a spirited point against Brighouse before suffering a humbling 5-0 defeat away at Stockton at the start of February. They recovered well however, and a single Callum Foster goal gave them a well earned three points against playoff chasing side Stocksbridge Park Steels. In their most recent outing, they went down 2-1 away at Long Eaton United, highlighting their inconsistency this season.

The sides have already met once this season, with Dunston running out 3-1 winners at the UTS Stadium in November thanks to goals from Will Jenkins, Jake Jensen and Liam Thear.

THOUGHTS OF THE MANAGEMENT

After Saturday's draw with Stockton, Chris Swailes

"We've got a number of hard games on the road coming up, and we have got the three points on numerous occasions this season but every game takes a little bit more and means a little bit more.

"We've got 11 games left, and there is a lot of points still to play for. We'll be going down to Lincoln full of confidence and we're looking forward to it.
