Dunston come into this game nine games unbeaten, and have won their last two games over Tadcaster and Grimsby Borough, scoring six goals in the process. They know that nothing less than a win will do against Carlton, and that the teams above them will need to drop points in order for Dunston to secure a spot in the end of season playoffs.

Dunston's closest rivals are Long Eaton who sit two points above them. They entertain Brighouse Town, who sit top of the form charts after an impressive run of victories, but know a win would seal a playoff place. Should they draw, a win for Dunston would take them above Long Eaton and into a playoff place due to Chris Swailes' side having a better goal difference.

Above Long Eaton sit Hebburn and Stocksbridge Park Steels, both on 63 points. Both these sides know they need just a point on Saturday to secure a playoff place, with Hebburn welcoming Cleethorpes Town and Stocksbridge travelling to Bridlington on the East coast. Stocksbridge have a goal difference of +18, 3 more than Dunston who sit on +15, however Hebburn sit on -1, so there is an opportunity for Dunston to overtake both of these teams on the final day.

Our opponents tomorrow Carlton Town also have something to play for. They sit 18th in the table, just two points above the drop zone, and know they need to win to confirm safety, with nearest rivals Shildon travelling to Grimsby Borough who know victory and Carlton dropping points could also see them safe. The Nottinghamshire side had to endure a Thursday night fixture in Pontefract after the original tie on Tuesday was abandoned due to injury, meaning Dunston should have fresher legs. They gained a valuable point there - scoring late to secure a 2-2 draw, but know they have to win this to be sure of safety.

LAST TIME OUT

The two sides met earlier this season in November at the UTS Stadium, and it was Carlton who took the spoils on a disappointing afternoon for Dunston. A first half goal from Niall Davie gave the visitors the lead, before Bradley Wells doubled the away sides advantage mid-way through the second half. Terry Galbraith gave Dunston a lifeline with ten minutes to play, but Niall Hylton capped off a superb afternoon for the visitors on the break to make it 3-1.
