Preview - Brighouse Town AFC vs Dunston FC

Dunston play their second game inside the space of three days as they travel to Brighouse Town in The Pitching-In Northern Premier League N/West Division.

Having come out on top of a thrilling 5 goal thriller at the UTS Stadium on Saturday, in an entertaining encounter against Prescot Cables, Chris Swailes’ side now find themselves sitting at the top of the table. Collecting 10 points from a possible 12, including maximum points this season on both occasions they’ve travelled into Yorkshire, a win tonight against a side second bottom of the table could see Dunston extend their lead at the top by 4 points.

Conversely Brighouse are yet to record a win so far this season and suffered a heavy defeat at home, losing 2-5 to The City of Liverpool at the weekend in a performance described by Brighouse manager Vill Powell as “Men against boys”.

His side have conceded 13 goals in their previous 4 league games and it is expected that he will make changes ahead of tonight’s game.

Last season’s encounter between the two side saw Brighouse come out on the right side of a 4-3 score-line and Dunston Manager Chris Swailes is certainly not underestimating his opponents.

“It’s going to be tough, playing 2 games in the space of 3 days, but it’s going to be the same for them”.

He continued “There’s no easy games in this League, there’s 10 or 12 teams in this league who can make the play-offs and we want to be one of them”

“I’ll have to see who is fit for Monday, so I may need to make change, but the lads who were there Saturday were fantastic”.
