Dunston UTS FC Appoints Tony Carter as Vice Chairman, Strengthening Ambitions for the Future

Dunston UTS FC is thrilled to announce the appointment of Tony Carter as the club's new Vice Chairman, marking a major step forward in the club's long-term growth strategy and competitive ambitions.

Carter joins Dunston UTS FC following a highly successful tenure as Vice Chairman at Gateshead FC, where he played a pivotal role in driving the club forward and strengthening community ties. His reputation is second to none and it makes him an exciting addition to Dunston UTS's strong committee.

"We're incredibly excited to welcome Tony to Dunston UTS FC," said Tony Cleugh, Co Chairman.

“His track record speaks for itself. Tony brings passion, vision, and the type of forward-thinking leadership that will help propel the club to new heights.

"We couldn't be more pleased to welcome Tony to the club. His experience, passion, and drive are exactly what we need as we push forward,” he added.

“Tony is a fantastic fit for Dunston UTS, and we're confident he'll help take this club forward." said Billy Irwin Co Chairman.

Carter's appointment signals Dunston UTS FC's continued commitment to strengthening its leadership structure and driving progress both on and off the pitch.

With his experience and energetic approach, the club is poised for an exciting next chapter.

Upon his appointment, Tony Carter has said:

“I was a Gateshead director and long-term sponsor and fan and overseen the most successful part of their history with two consecutive Wembley finals and with a win in the 2024 FA Trophy final, and also having overseen a top ten finish in a league where we were massively punching above our weight.

“l left Gateshead earlier this year due to much time spent trying to work and oversee the rebuilding of Gateshead FC due to manager and player departures and I needed a break.

Now I feel fresh for a new challenge with a club I feel is heading in the right direction, both on and off the field, and working alongside two great Chairmen who are working hard to take Dunston forward to the next level and I was ready to comeback into football after a short break.”

Everyone at Dunston UTS Football Club would like to officially welcome Tony to the club.
