CLUB NEWS | Jordan Lamb

We can confirm Jordan Lamb will be leaving the club following tomorrow's game at home against Brighouse Town.

Jordan initially arrived at the club during the summer of 2023 after a successful trial period. He went on to make 34 appearances for the club last season, scoring four goals and providing six assists.

Last summer, Lamb departed the club as he signed for Northern League Division One side, Newcastle Blue Star. However, the New Zealand-born forward made his return to the UTS Stadium last month on a dual registration deal.

Since returning, Lamb has made four appearances and has started our last three fixtures, all coming away from home against Bradford Park Avenue, Carlton, and Garforth. His efforts have not gone unnoticed and he has been a real asset down the wing contributing to the club's successful current form.

Jordan will be returning to New Zealand following tomorrow's game as an exciting new football opportunity has arisen for him back home.

Dunston Manager Jon McDonald has commented on the departure of Jordan:

"Jordan has been an absolute pleasure to work with since he arrived 18 months ago. He has always been a popular member of our group and well-liked by the staff and his teammates.

"On the pitch, he has electric pace and he made a great contribution last season scoring goals and, notably, the assist in extra-time in the play-off final. Since he arrived back this season, he has made some excellent performances.

"Whilst we will all miss him being around, he has been offered a fantastic football opportunity back home in New Zealand and this is something that everyone at Dunston UTS supports him with.

"On behalf of everyone at the club, we wish Lamby every success with his future journey."

We have also got some words from Jordan himself as he prepares to play his final game for the club tomorrow afternoon:

"My time at the club has been some of the most exciting and enjoyable football of my career, being in a top side that made the play-offs and should have won the promotion play-off final.

"It's hard to pick a favourite memory because there have been so many but, for me, it's hard to look past my first competitive goal for the club against Ashington in the FA Trophy. As a team, I would have to say the comeback from being 3-1 down at Belper Town, to win 4-3.

"I would just like to say thank you to everyone at the club for taking a chance on a Kiwi lad, treating me like family, and giving me the opportunity to play for such a special side that I will never forget. We are Dunston UTS."

Jordan will be available for selection for the last time tomorrow afternoon as we host Brighouse Town at the UTS Stadium.

From everyone at the club, a massive thank you for your efforts, and all the best for the future, Lamby!
