BREAKING NEWS: Dale Pearson signs!
Dunston complete the signing of versatile forward from Morpeth Town as Chris Swailes' side look to strengthen their hold on a playoff place.
Dunston have further strengthened their credentials in the search for a playoff place with the capture of versatile forward Dale Pearson from Morpeth Town.
Pearson is a strong forward and potent finisher, who can play centrally and out wide, adding vital versatility to an already strong attacking base as the games continue to come thick and fast towards the back end of the NPL season. He signs from Northern Premier League side Morpeth Town, and has five goals to his name this season.
The former Newcastle Benfield, West Allotment Celtic and Blyth Spartans forward was a key man in Consett’s promotion winning campaign which saw them rise to the Northern Premier League East. He scored 67 goals in 84 appearances for the County Durham outfit, which included a goal in the FA Vase Final at Wembley in the defeat to Hebburn Town.
Assistant manager Jon McDonald explained: “I had Dale as a young player at West Allotment Celtic, and I have followed his progress over the years and we have always kept in touch.
“He has pace, power and is capable of scoring goals. He will add to an already strong group of players, and he can operate out wide as well as through the middle.”
Dale is now eligible and could feature in the Durham County Cup semi-final tomorrow night against Spennymoor Town.
Welcome to Dunston, Dale!
