Match Preview | Lincoln United (A)
Dunston return to league action after back-to-back cup games, making the 305 mile-round trip to newly promoted Lincoln United.
Last Meeting
Lincoln United 2-1 Dunston UTS (NPL East - 25th February 2023)
Dunston travelled to Ashby Avenue in February of the 2022/23 season, Chris Swailes' last season in charge of the club. The Blues got off to a flying start through Dale Pearson, as Carl Finnigan's parried header was lashed into the back of the net from six yards out. After a dominant first-half, Dunston collapsed in the second half as Matthew Cotton and Evan Payne scored to win it for Lincoln. Cotton broke through after a headed through-ball and calmly slotted past James Anderson, whilst Payne headed in from a yard out from a corner less than fifteen minutes later. Chris Swailes' side fought hard to earn something from the game in the second-half, but failed to come away with any points.
