A brace from Wil Shaw and a goal by JJ O’Donnell secured an important theee points on a cold Tuesday night at the UTS Stadium.

Jon McDonald made one change to the side from Saturday’s abandoned 1-1 draw with Craig Baxter replacing the suspended Tom Devitt.

Dunston started the brighter of the teams with their rewards coming inside 6 minutes with Wil Shaw lashing one past Lambton in the Emley goal.

Dunston continued their pressure on the Emley goal with Harvey Neary going on a trademark run down the right-wing before winning a corner.

On 20 minutes, Dunston extended their lead with JJ O’Donnell’s looping header landing in the top left corner of Lambton’s goal.

The Fed slowed down before the break with Chris McDonald’s long-range effort flying over the bar just before half-time.

However, Dunston made it 3-0 inside six minutes of the second half with Wil Shaw tapping home from close range following an O’Donnell shot that was spilled by Lambton.

Following Dunston’s third, Emley started to pressure the the Fed’s goal with Michael Pearson getting a crucial block to deny a goal back for the Pewits.

Emley’s consolation goal came on 72 minutes when Gabriel Johnson tapped home from close range before thirteen minutes later Dan Lowson pulled off a huge stop to deny Johnson from getting a second.

Following late pressure from Emley, Dunston held on to secure an important three points in the league.

Next up for Dunston is an away game in the Pitching in Nothern Premier East against Ossett United this Saturday.
