PREVIEW | Stockton (A)

Dunston make the short journey south to take on the in-form Stockton Town in our next league fixture this Saturday.

Despite currently sitting in 7th place, and just one point off the play-offs, Dunston will be desperate to get back on track after a draw and a defeat in the last two league games.

It was a defeat last time out as North Ferriby came from behind twice to defeat Dunston is a below-par performance at The UTS Stadium. Dunston currently sit 13th in the form table, picking up just 7 points from the last 6 games.

At the other end of the form table is Stockton Town, who currently sit top, and fourth in the overall league table. The Anchors' last league defeat came on September 16th away at Pontefract.

Since then, they have won their last three league games against North Ferriby, Ashington and Grimsby Borough, scoring ten goals in the process.

Among the ranks at Stockton is former Dunston-man Michael Fowler. Fowler has scored four times so far this season however, hasn't featured for a few games due to injury. He may return this Saturday against his former side.

Dunston and Stockton met a total of three times last season - twice in the league and once in the quarter-finals of the Durham Challenge Cup.

Dunston have an excellent record against Saturday's hosts and won twice there last season. In October last year, a 93rd minute header from Jon Shaw saw Dunston claim a last-gasp victory in the league.

The two sides met again at The Map Group UK Stadium just four days before Christmas when goals from Liam Thear, Carl Finnigan and Michael Fowler saw Dunston record a 3-1 win and set up a semi-final tie with Spennymoor Town in the Durham Challenge Cup.

The final meeting between the two sides last season came in February at The UTS Stadium. Dale Pearson fired Dunston into the lead on the half-hour mark before Elliott Beddow equalised on the stroke of half-time. The game finished 1-1.

The game kicks-off at 3:00pm on Saturday October 21st at The Map Group UK Stadium - Bishopton Road West, Stockton-on-Tees, TS19 0QD .
