PREVIEW | Grimsby Borough (A)
Due to recent postponements to our last two home games, Dunston will be looking to get back on track with a tricky test at Grimsby Borough up next. Our first game back since our 1-1 draw at Stockton on October 21st.
Since that last league game, Dunston have dropped from 5th place to 10th place and currently sit on 18 points, still just three points outside of the play-offs. Dunston also now have at least one game in hand over every team that is currently occupying the top five places in the Northern Premier League East table.
However, Dunston will need a change in fortune after being winless since September's 1-0 win against Liversedge. Dunston also currently sit in 14th place in the league's form table.
THE OPPOSITION
Grimsby Borough will also be looking to get back on track. They currently sit in 14th position and have lost their last three games, after winning their three games before that.
Most recently, Borough conceded a 96th minute goal to lose out at Hebburn Town. Our hosts last win came on October 7th, a resounding 4-0 win against Sheffield FC.
LAST SEASON VS GRIMSBY BOROUGH
The two meetings between the sides last season both went in favour of the home side on both occasions. On November 12th last year, Edwin Essel's 70th minute goal secured a 1-0 win for his side on home soil for Grimsby. It was a sub-par performance that day in a game of few chances. Dunston also missed from the penalty spot midway through the first half, as Terry Galbraith's spot kick was off target.
In April last year, our final home game of the season, Dunston won 2-1 in what was one of our performances of the season. A game where only a win would be enough in order to go into the final game of the season with a chance of play-offs. Grimsby went ahead inside 15 minutes when Lewis Collins slotted home.
Dunston responded expertly in the second half and goals from Dale Pearson and Sado Djalo secured the three points.
