Jon McDonald’s side continue their pre-season preparations as they face yet another tough test against higher opposition when they welcome neighbours Gateshead to the UTS Stadium (kick-off 7.30pm).
Dunston claimed a draw in their last friendly after a spirited comeback against higher opposition saw them draw 2-2 with Dartford of the National League South.
The Fed have also drawn against Seaham Red Star and had a narrow loss to Whitley Bay as they prepare for the upcoming season.
THE OPPOSITION
Gateshead finished 14th in their first season back in the National League in 22-23 following their promotion from the National League North the year before. The Heed also made it to the final of the FA Trophy against Halifax Town but would narrowly lose 1-0.
Gateshead recently gave fellow North East clubs Sunderland and Newcastle a tough test with both sides escaping with 3-2 victories after the National League side took a 2-0 lead in both games. The Heed have also beaten Hebburn Town by a goal to nil in their only other friendly.
RECENT HISTORY
Last season Dunston ran out 2-1 winners against Gateshead in a pre-season friendly. The season prior it was roles reversed as Gateshead ran out 2-1 winners in a friendly.
MATCH INFORMATION
The match will take place at the UTS Stadium, NE11 9JL (Kick-off 7:30pm).
The clubhouse will be open from 6pm onwards with supporters able to buy lottery tickets for Monday’s draw at 6pm. The prize fund is now up to £7,500.
The bait cabin will be open from 7pm with an updated menu including homemade pies, chicken curry and gravy and chips.

Tickets for Friday evening’s game are priced as follows; Adults £6, Concessions £4 and under 16’s £2 and will be available to purchase on the gate.
