Dunston UTS FC vs Lincoln United - Match report

Dunston played host to Lincoln United at the UTS Stadium on a damp and windswept afternoon. The hosts came out on top of a 3-1 score-line, a result which sees them move into the play-off zone, as the whites poor run of form continues.

Lincoln opened the scoring on 8 minutes with their first attack of the game, a ball played down the channel, with the winger getting past Galbraith too easily, a ball driven across goal found an unmarked Jake Park, who had the simplest of tap ins, despite Michael  Hall’s best efforts to clear the ball off the line.

Dunston equalised on 23, a well worked moved starting from Sado Djalo, as he skipped his way through the middle of the park, the ball moved quickly on to Pearson as Thear span off his marker to deliver to the back post, Djalo had made an intelligent run into the box and was there to side foot beyond Goff in the Lincoln Utd goal.

Connell denied Jake Park from the penalty spot; awarded for a foul on Andy Janssen, just before the stroke of half time. Parks’ tame effort hit at the feet of the experienced Dunston keeper.

Sado gave Dunston the lead on 59 minutes, a Craig Baxter cross hanging in the air, the forward rising athletically to loop his header into the net.

With the game poised at 2-1 to the hosts, Lincoln should’ve equalised. On the break again, Josh Wilson latched onto a long ball, bearing down on goal, a slip from Connell should’ve been capitalised upon, the substitute hesitated as the Dunston number one recovered his footing to block any shot.

Chris Swailes introduced Jack Elliott and  Ursene Mouanda in the final ten minutes. The changes seemed to give the side the energy his side needed with Elliotts ability to torment  tiring defenders

Sado had a fine chance to claim his hat-trick, the forward drilling a powerful effort just shy of the up post following some neat interlinking passing.

The game was over as a contest on 84 minutes, as Luke Porritt composed himself superbly to hammer. home from the edge of the box
