Dunston UTS FC are delighted to announce the arrival of talented young defender Jude Swailes.

Jude is the son of current Dunston UTS FC Manager Chris Swailes and his signing is a huge step forward for the club on the pitch.

Having been with Newcastle United since he was a youngster, Jude emerged through the clubs Academy system, before moving up into the ranks of The Premier League sides Under 23’s squad. Making over 30 appearances in a black and white shirt,  across both the Premier League Under-18’s and Under 23’s in Premier League 2, the highly regarded youngster was offered a 2 year contract at St James’ Park at the end of last season. Jude decided against the offer, in favour of a move to The USA, where he joined Charleston College in South Carolina.

Speaking to Jude on signing for Dunston he said:

“I’m excited to sign for the club, get some games and minutes under my belt and hopefully do well for Dunston”

“It’s a big opportunity for me to play for a team I used to watch a lot as a young lad. Dunston is a great club, ran by a lot of great people and I can’t wait to get started!”

Speaking to Chris Swailes on what Jude will offer his team, as they push on looking to break into the play-off places:

“He’s only 20 year old and has recently left his Scholarship in America. He has 10 years’ experience at Newcastle United where he was a professional. He’s strong, quick, good on the ball and a natural defender”.

The signing of Jude Swailes is a major coup for Dunston and shows the level of players the club are now able to attract.

Jude will be available for our next game at home to Worksop Town, in a 3pm kick-off at The UTS Stadium this coming Saturday.
