Dunston UTS FC announce a major new signing

Terry Galbraith

Club legend returns for a second spell.

Dunston UTS FC are delighted to announce that Terry Galbraith has re-joined the club for a second spell. This is yet another major signing ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Galbraith brings with him a wealth of experience having previously spent the last 7 seasons with Darlington FC. Terry made his name at Dunston UTS FC and a was key player for Billy Irwin’s FA Vase winning side in 2012 along with Manager Chris Swailes and recent signing Liam Connell.

Galbraith was regarded as one of the brightest prospects in The Northern League in his first spell with Dunston and left The UTS Stadium in November 2012 to join Darlington FC. He would go on to win three promotion medals, making over 250 appearances and scoring over 50 goals in his time with The Quakers.

Terry captained Darlington during the 2018/19 season and spent last season playing in The National League North.

Considered to be one of the best left backs in the history of Dunston UTS FC, he is capable playing at the centre of defence, centre midfield and left wing.

On the signing Galbraith, Dunston UTS FC Manager Chris Swailes said "For me he'll bring leadership, he's vocal wherever he plays and he'll bring experience and these are valuable especially in this league".

He continued "Last season I thought we sussed the league and I thought we were lacking a little bit". "With the two additions so far and hopefully some more, depending on when the season starts, they'll hold us in good stead and hopefully it's the step that we need just to be better than what we were last year if 'm honest". "We found out what the league is about, I just thought we needed some adjustments in some certain areas and hopefully these two will be able to prove a point"

Dunston UTS Chairman Malcolm James "We'd like to welcome Terry back to the club, when he became available it was just natural that we'd be interested in the lad".

He added " We're a club that is looking to go forward; Terry Galbraith and recent signing Liam Connell are two lads who we've always wanted to bring back to the club as this is were their hearts are".

Returning to the club for a second spell Galbraith commented "I'm over the Moon, obviously I've always had a soft spot for Dunston with my previous history and what I achieved here in The Vase and I'm just buzzing to get started again"

When asked about his hopes for the coming season he said "Obviously it's got to be promotion, I think everyone's got to be pulling in the same direction, I've spoke to Swaz, he's got all the positive thoughts on what he wants to achieve so I'm bidding into to that as well".
