Dunston UTS FC - Further Transfer News.

Breaking transfer news

Chris Swailes continues to add quality and experience to his side ahead of the up-coming season with the signing of highly rated forward Lee Mason.

Dunston UTS FC are delighted to announce that Lee Mason has agreed terms and joins from South Shields ahead of the 2021/22 season

He becomes Chris Swailes’ third signing in the space of a week and the capture of the highly rated 30 year old forward is yet a further signal of intent for this up-coming season, which, so far, is building up to be a very exciting one.

On joining Dunston UTS FC, Mason commented:

"I'm delighted to be joining Dunston. I’ve heard so many good things about the club from numerous people, It’s always been a well ran club and also a club with ambition".

"I can’t wait to get started and hopefully we can kick on from where they left it before the season was curtailed"

"Funnily enough Swaz has tried to sign me the last 2 or 3 seasons so It’s always nice to be wanted by a manager". He added "Swaz wants to take the club forward and aim for promotion this season which is something I want to be a part of, hopefully I can bring some experience to the team with playing in these leagues and knowing what is needed to get out of them".

Speaking to The Dunston UTS FC Manager on his latest addition to the team

“I’ve been after Lee since I got the job here, he’s got great qualities, he scores goals, he gets assists, he can play anywhere across the front and he rarely gives the ball away”

“First and foremost we want to get out of this League, we really do. I’ve been backed by the football club and we really want to do well. You see the ground now and how it’s been developed, we want a team that’s fitting for this, for the fans, the area and we’ll not stop until promotion is gained”.

As with the recent signings of Phil Turnbull and Craig Baxter, Lee Mason brings with him a wealth of experience. The attacker had made the move to South Shields from neighbours North Shields in February 2018 and during his time with “The Mariners”  scored an impressive 36 goals in 86 appearances. He has had previous experience playing at a higher level with Blyth Spartans and Whitby Town and will be a superb addition to the team.
