Dunston FC Chairman Malcolm James provides his own thoughts on last season and looks ahead to the coming season.

For me personally, I thought our expectations were higher going into the new season, given our outstanding performance throughout the previous season; winning the Northern League title by 17 points. We were viewed as one of the favourites for BetVictor Northern Premier North West division, and we were to find out very quickly how high the standard of the league was.

Having to contend with the extra required travelling, was something new for a lot of our players, staff and supporters.

Now that we’ve got last  season under our belt, we know what to expect, so hopefully we are now more mentally and physically prepared for the coming season ahead.

Overall I’m happy with how we performed last season, both on the playing and management side. I feel that the experience we gained last season will stand us in very good stead as we move into the new season.

The Club as a whole would love to welcome as many supporters, both old and new, through the gates at The UTS Stadium this season. The support this provides to the club as a whole is huge, it helps the Club to grow and develop, so we urge all supporters to really get behind the team this season in numbers. We have some really exciting games lined up during pre-season and once we’re in a position to announce those games, we’d openly welcome you all to The UTS Stadium, as I’m sure a lot of people are eager for Football to return.
