match pre-view Yorkshire Amateur vs Dunston UTS FC

Dunston UTS FC make the trip down to Leeds to face Yorkshire Amateur. With a 12 point gap between Dunston and the play-off places, anything other than a win could potentially further widen the gap.

Chris Swailes’ side have been in impressive form since the turn of the year. Unbeaten in three, picking up points against sides above them, there is now a renewed sense of optimism as we head into the second half of the season.

Speaking to Dunston UTS FC Assistant Manager Jon McDonald:

“Saturday’s performance was first class. We dominated the second half against a team who are in and around the play-off spots. Keeping another clean sheet and scoring 4 good goals. However, we won’t be getting ahead of ourselves and know our levels need to be high again on Saturday”.

“We are in good form, the lads have been flying in training and games and there’s a really positive feel about the group”.

Tomorrow’s hosts have been in good form of their own since mid-December, bringing league leaders Liversedge’s unbeaten league campaign to an end with a 2-0 win at home in January. They were defeated in the final minutes at home to Worksop Town in their previous game, before Worksop travelled to Dunston days later.

Jon McDonald

“We are under no illusions that Saturday will be another tough test. You need to be on your mettle in every game in this league, but, we are in good shape and have genuine competition for places in the squad. We are looking forward to the game and we will all be giving everything to get another 3 points”.

The two sides met at The UTS Stadium back in October, the home side easing to a 3-0 victory against a depleted Ammer’s side. The win seeing Dunston record sixth straight win.
