Tadcaster Albion vs Dunston UTS FC - Match preview.

Dunston UTS FC travel to Tadcaster Albion tonight in The Pitching In Northern Premier League East Division. Swaz will be looking to kick on,  following an impressive win at the weekend away to Newcastle Benfield in the preliminary qualifying round of The Emirates FA Cup.

Form wise for both sides, Dunston played out a goalless draw away to Brighouse Town on the opening day of the season, followed by a frustrating 0-2 loss at home to recently promoted Shildon at The UTS Stadium.

Although it’s early doors in the season, so far “The Brewers” are yet to win a game. A score draw at home to Sheffield FC was followed by a 1-3 loss away to Liversedge. Tadcaster Albion were then eliminated from the FA Cup on the weekend at home to Northern League side Newton Aycliffe, the winner coming in the final minutes of the game.

Dunston will be able call upon the services of Michael Hall, having served the final game of his 3 match suspension on the weekend. Captain Craig Scott returns, whilst the only possible doubt for Dunston could be Terry Galbraith, who has missed the opening games of the season due to injury.

In the three previous meetings between the two sides, Dunston have taken points in all three. The last encounter at Ings Lane saw Swaz’s side coming away with maximum points in a 5 goal thriller back in the 2019/20 season.  Goals coming from Scott  Heslop, Jack Elliott and Liam  Marrs in a 3-2 win. Dunston completed the double over Tadcaster during their first season in the NPL, following a 1-0 in the reverse fixture.
The only encounter between Dunston UTS and Tadcaster Albion resulted in a score draw at The UTS Stadium, before the eventual curtailment of last season.

Tadcaster manager Paul Quinn has added to his squad over the Summer, bringing in a raft of new faces;  Kesi Omolokun, former Bradford City youngster Oliver Norman, Kieran Burton, who was on Barnsley’s books, Des Amponsah, Freddie Sass from Stalybridge Celtic and the return of crowd favourite Donald Chimalilo, the later having stood out as a player to watch in our previous encounters.
