Marske Utd vs Dunston UTS FC

Dunston UTS FC make the relatively short journey to the North Yorkshire coast this Bank Holiday Monday, to face former Northern League foes Marske United.

Chris Swailes’ side are on run of 3 wins on the bounce and will no doubt be going into this game full of confidence.

An impressive 4-1 win over Pontefract Collieries at The UTS Stadium on Saturday lifted Dunston up to 6th in the table.

Marske Utd are considered as strong favourites for the Northern Premier League East title, and for good reason too.

Despite suffering their first loss of the season, in a 1-2 defeat away to surprise early league leaders Liversedge, with the result meaning Carl Jarretts’ side dropped to 8th in table, they have been in free scoring form, and in particular Adam Boyes. The former England C International, signed from Spennymoor Town and regarded as “the biggest signing in the clubs history” has bagged an impressive 8 goals from only 4 games so far this season.

As form guides go, Marske Utd have certainly had the upper hand results wise over Dunston in previous seasons.

The last time Dunston recorded a win at The GER Stadium was all the way back in October of 2012.

In the last 8 meetings between the 2 sides, Dunston have only won once, with Marske Utd winning 5 games out of 5 in previous meetings between the two sides.

Speaking to Dunston UTS FC Assistant Manager Jon McDonald ahead of the game, he commented:

“Marske have a good home record and have done for a number of years. They’ve had a strong start to the season, despite their result on Saturday at Liversedge, so we will expect another tough challenge“.

On Dunston’s current form

“We are delighted with the week we have had, and we are coming off the back of three wins and solid performances.”

He continued

“The lads have been first class, so we go there with confidence, and looking to get another positive result to keep our momentum going”.

Kick off is at 3pm at The GER Stadium.

We still have places available on the coach for this game.
