Liversedge FC vs Dunston UTS FC - Match Preview

Dunston travel to Liversedge FC this Saturday in The Northern Premier League East Division.

Having only come up this season from The NCEL “The Sedge” have made a blistering start the campaign,  currently occupy 1st place in the division, with an impressive 7 wins from 7.

They did taste defeat for the first time this season, exiting The Emirates FA Cup last weekend in a 0-2 loss away to Runcorn Linnets. However they quickly bounced back from that disappointment with a 2-0 win in the league away to Sheffield FC in midweek. Allthough they’ve played 2 more games than clubs around them, they’ve clearly set the pace for others to catch up.

Chris Swailes should be at full strength for this fixture. Captain Craig Scott returns from injury, as does Luke Porritt and Lee Mason. Dunston will be looking to bounce back from last week’s last minute defeat at home to Marine AFC in The Emirates FA Cup.

This will be the first time the two sides have faced each other since the 2007/08 season. The last meeting saw Liversedge come out on the right side of a 2-0 scoreline at home in the preliminary round of The FA Vase.

Liversedge’s player to watch so far this season is Ollie Fearnon, the forward has scored 5 goals in the League so far this season and was recently voted Non-League Yorkshires player of the Month for August

Kick off at Clayborn Stadium is 3pm
