Dunston UTS FC recorded a sixth straight victory in all competitions after seeing off Yorkshire Amateurs by three goals to nil to continue their rise in the Northern Premier League East Division. After a slow start to the game, Dunston took control through two quickfire goals by Sado Djalo and Jake Stafford. A long ball caught the Yorkshire defence off guard, allowing Liam Thear to latch on and cross low to Sado Djalo to slot home for his fourth goal of the season.
The goal had been coming, with both Jack Elliott and the goalscorer Djalo going close in the moments before the goal.

Just 8 minutes later, a superb curling cross from the left boot of Terry Galbraith met Jake Stafford who leapt like a salmon out of water to put the ball beyond Yorkshire keeper Kyle Trenerry to make it 2-0. Dunston were good value for their two goal lead and Yorkshire Amateurs, who had a severely depleted bench, were hoping they were not going to be on the receiving end of another drubbing, similar to the 5-0 loss they received from Liversedge last weekend.

To their credit, a spirited Yorkshire Amateurs battled back strongly in the second half and were much the better side, with Dunston keeper Liam Connell being forced into a smart save by Ross Duggan to tip his shot around the post, and Casey Stewart shooting narrowly wide shortly after. However, with the Ammers failing to capitalise on these missed opportunities to get back into the game, all hope of a comeback was lost on 77 minutes with Dunston substitute Lee Mason slotting home following a neat through ball fromfellow replacement Matthew Pattison. Great football on show and Dunston saw the game out to record their 5th league win on the bounce, and sixth in all competitions. Now sitting in the playoff positions, Dunston face a trip down the M1 to face second from bottom Sheffield FC next weekend.
