WELCOME!

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to everyone in attendance at the UTS Stadium this afternoon for only the third Pre-Season Friendly since our enforced absence after 17th October 2020!

 Our visitors today are our ex-Northern League rivals and good friends SUNDERLAND RYHOPE CW FC who will be making every effort to gain promotion at the end of the season and join us in the NPL. They will provide another really strong challenge today, with their Northern League campaign starting on Saturday 31st July, just one week away. They have played several pre-season games since the start of the month and have come up with some very impressive perfomances and results. Their newly formed “Management Trio” of Gary Pearson, Craig Hughes and David Pounder have added some excellent young talent to what was a very experienced group of “senior” players such as Kyle Davis, James Ellis, Denver Morris, Robbie Bird and excellent ‘keeper James Winter. If the younger squad members can learn from the older players and turn their energy into results, then there is no reason why Ryhope CW can’t be right up there challenging for honours. We wish them well and hope that they can make a great start to their League campaign next Saturday when they make the very short journey to play their local rivals Sunderland RCA!      

We also extend a warm welcome to our Match Officials this after-noon, Referee Jonny Urwin and his Assistant Referees Chris Armstrongand Dan van Hymus. We are most grateful to them for taking the game.
